Glass Mosaic Workshop: Inspired by Layo Bright | SOLD OUT

Join us for an exciting one-day introduction to glass mosaics inspired by the current exhibition Layo Bright: Dawn and Dusk! Participants will learn basic techniques such as cutting glass and adhering and creating shapes to compose unique designs. This class will include an introduction to the exhibition by artist Layo Bright and the workshop will be led by glass artist and educator Courtney McCloskey. Students will create their own small glass mosaic that they will be able to take home the day of the class. No previous experience required; this class is open to all levels and includes materials.

Layo Bright: Dawn and Dusk is organized by Amy Smith-Stewart, Chief Curator at The Aldrich, and is on view through October 27, 2024.

Teaching Artist Bio

Courtney McCloskey is a glass artist and educator based in Brooklyn, NY. She is inspired by the environments around her and how they impact the quality of life. McCloskey works with several fabrication and public access glass studios. These studios have a great influence on her personal work and teaching style. Her current body of work emphasizes being resourceful with materials and building communities within the classrooms.
