16 Contemporary Polish Artists

With this selection of 16 Contemporary Polish Artists, the Aldrich Museum welcomes the opportunity to present the first of a new series of exhibitions.

The exhibition is made possible by the availability of the collection of Ms. Ewa Pape, a Polish-born artist, who for years has been a dedicated force for the introduction of Polish artists to America. Recently from Low Angeles and now from New York City, Ms. Pape is generously and enthusiastically engaged in her mission. We share her enthusiasm and whole-heartedly and have selected 44 works which exemplify the dominant and historically important influence of “constructivism” in contemporary Polish art.

Artists: Jan Berdyszak, Andrzej Dłużniewski, Zbigniew Gostomski, Zbig Janis, Zdzisław Jurkiewicz, Edward Krasiński, Danuta Lewandowska, Zbigniew Makowski, Adam Marczyński, Witold Masznicz, Roman Opałka, Janusz Orbitowski, Henryk Stażewski, Josef Twirbutt, Marian Warzecha, Ryszard Winiarski
