Arturo Herrera’s work will seem vaguely familiar at first. He uses fragments of well-known imagery in his abstract work. Abstraction, which for some people can have a distancing effect in art, is counteracted here and we can more easily enter into a rich psychological, critical, and pictorial space that the artist has constructed.
