The Invisible is site-specific installation transforming the 225-year-old façade of The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum's historic administration building, called Old Hundred, with an illuminated awning based on the designs that grace countless bodegas and convenience stores in American cities. Partegàs' intervention features text that poetically reflects on the experience of visiting an art museum. The work plays the with the awning's change of context: urban/ suburban, Latino/ Anglo-Saxon, and food store/art store. Spanish artist Ester Partegàs lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
