Gilbert & George Pictures

Gilbert and George produce “photo-sculptures.” Largely gridded, vividly-colored, hand-dyed, “pictures,” commentaries of everyday life seen through the windows of their London-based home, are the images they present. These images are strong, and more often than not Gilbert and George are characters within their own pictures, yet separate from the context. As in their pictures, they are not involved in ordinary everyday life; they are artists probing the meaning of life.
