Glee: Painting Now

Could it really be that after years of existential questioning, painting has broken free from tedious deliberation about its role in visual culture? Does it seem that painting, particularly abstraction, has moved into a new phase of self-awareness, confidence, entitlement? Glee: Painting Now came together from the point of view that abstract painting, perhaps the most serious and headstrong form of the visual arts, can’t take you call right now because it’s out having a good time.
