Jon Conner’s installation titled Self-Sufficient Barnyard (The annual amount of livestock needed to feed a family of four) consists of forty-one animals carved from Styrofoam. The work plays off our desire for a simpler country life and at the same time acknowledges our naiveté about what a simpler life as a farmer might entail.
