Since the opening of the American frontier in the 19th century, art has played a critical role in shaping political and public opinion of resource use and conservation. The four photographers in this exhibition continue this tradition in the last decades of the 20th century, a time many feel is the last chance for not only the American landscape, but for the Earth’s environment as a whole.
