New Visions

About a year prior to the opening of this exhibition, Larry Aldrich began to notice that quite a few new artists were including recognizable objects in their paintings–not representational in the sense we have used that term in the past. Basically the paintings were abstract in quality, but included recognizable objects as fantasy, quite different from what was known as surrealism. Several examples of this movement are included in this New Visions exhibition.
