The art of Aboriginal Australia is the oldest continuous art tradition known, dating back more than 40,000 years. Symbols in the art represent the mythical creation era, the “Dreamtime,” when the ancestral Beings, the “Dreamings,” traveled the earth, creating the known world of mountains, rivers, animals, and vegetation.
