Todd Hebert’s hazy, seemingly out-of-focus compositions have viewers thinking they are looking through an atmosphere of water or dust. They naturally want to bring the image into sharp focus so that they can see all of what they think is there. But the beauty and appeal of the paintings is in part due to this gossamer fog that cloaks the landscapes.
