The Aldrich’s 60th Anniversary Gala

The Aldrich’s 60th Anniversary Gala honoring Trustee and Chair Emeritus Eric Diefenbach and artist Loie Hollowell was held on April 20, 2024, and was our most successful gala to date raising more than $580,000 to support exhibitions and programs at the Museum!

The Gala kicked off with cocktails at the Museum where guests sipped on elevated seltzers donated by oHHo and specialty cocktails featuring Litchfield Distillery spirits. Guests explored the exhibitions Loie Hollowell: Space Between, A Survey of Ten Years, Layo Bright: Dawn and Dusk, Elizabeth Englander: Eminem Buddhism, Volume 3, and Amanda Martínez: Canta y no llores. Afterwards, guests traveled to Yanity Gymnasium aboard classic yellow school buses where they were greeted by cheerleaders from Cheer New York.

The event merged the bold and colorful palette of Loie’s paintings with subtle nods to a 1960’s aesthetic, celebrating the venue’s retro atmosphere and the Museum’s founding decade. Sponsors included Freixenet Mionetto, Litchfield Distillery, Meadow Ridge, and oHHo. The evening’s program included a special performance by choreographer Stephen Petronio, followed by a dinner by premier caterer Canard, and a lively auction featuring led by Betsy Alexandre from Christie’s of artworks and experiences including a private dinner catered by Canard in The Aldrich’s newly renovated Sculpture Garden; a stay at a private home in Jackson Hole, WY; a tour of the home and studio of artist Robert Rauschenberg; a casting session and studio tour with artist Loie Hollowell; and artworks by Aldrich alumni artists including Cindy Sherman and Louise Nevelson.
