Anna Park

Swinging between figuration and abstraction, Anna Park’s large-scale charcoal drawings mounted to panels parade shattered psychodramas that teem and swirl. Appraising stardom, desire, and the American dream, Park’s subject matter is fabricated from photographs she pinches online and images she conjures from her imagination. Having moved from South Korea to the US southwest as a child, the artist powers her explosive storylines on her diasporic experience, surveying charged social arenas in an overactive present.
